2024 Interior Design Trends

Warm tones and unique shapes by Rebekah Nicole Interiors

As the New Year rolls around, the world of interior design is abuzz with all the new trends 2024 may bring. In 2024, designers are embracing warm, moody colors, sustainable design, and interesting spaces. Let’s dive in to what RNI is most excited to bring to the table this year:

  1. Warm, Moody Tones

If you haven’t painted since 2010, you’re in luck! This year, warm, moody colors such as browns, reds, and burgundies are in. Out: the days of head-to-toe gray interiors (good riddance!) and harshly painted exteriors such as black trim and bright white paint. If you want to add some drama to a room, color drenching could be for you! Color drenching is the technique of saturating the room with one color, from baseboard, to wall, to ceiling. This is best in a room with lots of windows, but we’re excited to see it utilized this year.

  2. Sustainability

Sustainability has been a buzzword for the past couple years, but in 2024 we will see it majorly play out in interior design. Consumerist mindsets have been replaced with asking “what do I really need?” and investing and waiting on the perfect piece. Antiquing, thrifting, and exploring Facebook Marketplace or vintage websites like Chairish or First Dibs are an excellent way to find that one-of-a-kind piece, help the planet, and create an intentional space.

  3. Individualist Design

Clean Girl Aesthetic made its mark in 2023, but we predict 2024 will be more tailored to the individual, unique, and intentional. Design won’t be as cookie cutter as in the past, with people embracing originality and doing what feels best in their own space. We will see rich statement colors, patterns, and shapes. Furniture and lighting will take on funky shapes and be playful with scale, creating an interesting, yet intentional space. Just imagine: oversized lighting paired with a curvy coffee table in a color drenched room. Sounds exciting!

Whether you’re drawn to the endurance of sustainability or the freedom to express yourself, 2024 will offer you plenty of possibilities to curate your home. We’d love to help you create your dream space, contact us today and we can get started!
